Each ASCE Section that contains Route 66 within its boundaries is anticipated to stage one or more celebration activities in 2026. Listed below are links to the 10 Sections that participated in the nomination of Route 66 as a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark, which was approved by the the ASCE Board of Direction on July 10, 2025.

Included also are links to the Section Branches that are traversed by Route 66. Also, there is a link in the header of this page to the Fifteen Notable Features of Route 66 identified by ASCE, which in turn links back to this page. It is anticipated that plaque-unveiling ceremonies will be staged at most of the 15 features designated by ASCE.

To minimize the volume of correspondence that would be required to coordinate the proposed 2026 celebrations, the Sections and Branches are encouraged to announce their proposed events on their respective web sites. Doing so would give timely notice to the world about the proposed events. The date, time and place of the events will then be posted to the Calendar of Events, which can be accessed from the link in the header.
